After-School Program

Delivered online to Government Assisted Refugees and focuses on building English language skill in a fun and welcoming environment; Increasing digital literacy and access to technology for the whole family.

Curriculum focuses on building English Language Skills, learning about Canada and overall feeling welcomed within a group of peers.

We provide families with one new laptop for children to attend the program. Families can then keep the laptop to use for other needs (Job search, LINC classes, etc.). The program is delivered in a virtual setting in response to Covid-19.

Program Details

  • Participants are enrolled for a minimum of 3 months and can continue longer if they wish

  • 2x per week from 4pm-5:30pm on Zoom

  • 10-12 children per cohort

Eligibility

  • Open to GAR children and youth ages 6-16 years old (RAP clients), who have arrived in Canada within the last 6 months (flexible);

  • No English to Intermediate level
